LABOR DAY AT FLAMING GORGE
It's a family tradition that every labor day weekend we go with Josh's family to Flaming Gorge. They have a family cabin in Manila where we stay. Labor day weekend they celebrate Daggatt Days and there are many festivities. We got there on Thursday night and then spent Friday out on the lake on our boat with Josh's brother Quin and his cute little family. Then Saturday the rest of the family joined us and we began the day with the Manila town parade, the kids had so much fun collecting candy to put in their bags. After the parade we headed back out to the lake for a day of boating and wave running. We found a beach to come and go from and have lunch. It was a fun day of mainly tubing and wave running, it was pretty windy and chopping water. That night we went to the boat parade put on by the Yacht club. They decorate thier boats with lights and parade out on the lake, it looks pretty neat. The boat parade is followed by an awesome fireworks show. The kids always bring the candy they got from the parade earlier to munch on during the fireworks show. When I say kids, I mean me.:) It was a really fun day! On Sunday we had a bbq at the town park and grandma brought fun activities for the kids to do. In between all the festivities at Flaming Gorge, we hung out at the cabin, watched movies, played card games, read and just relaxed. Oh and of course Josh got in his early morning fishing excursion. Other than the fact that Josh had to have an emergency root canal the day we got back from our trip,(that's another story!) we had another fun weekend in Flaming Gorge. Can't wait until next year!
