Viva Las Vegas

Last weekend we took a somewhat last minute trip to Las Vegas hoping to find some sunshine. We had a great time. I wouldn't say it was really relaxing...we took the kids, but it was a lot of fun. We went with our friends and neighbors, the Guths. We also met up with another family from our neighborhood, the Barlows who were going to be there two of the nights that we were. They were on thier way to California. We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on the strip. We love staying at Hilton's hotels, but we had never stayed here and I highly recommend it. One of my favorite things about it was there was no casino in the hotel...yay! Here are a few pictures of the highlights of our trip. We took the kids to lunch one day at The Rainforest Cafe, all together there were 8 kids with us, they had a great time. Colton had so much fun looking at all the animals, he especially loved the aquarium of fish. Olivia thought the thunder and rain storms were neat. She would look up to the ceiling and say ohhhhh! Colton is holding the tiger he picked out at the Rainforest toy store. Here's the whole gang. (except Peter who had to work and Regan who's taking the picture)

After The Rainforest Cafe we took the kids over to the Gameworks Store, which has the M&M and Coca Cola factory. Colton had fun climbing all over the big blue m&m. He also got to pick out some m&m's out of the big m&m bins, out of allllll the colors he wanted only green.

One of the days we went to a fun outdoor shopping center called Town Square. It is a really fun place they have great shopping and places to eat. We ate at the California Pizza Kitchen and then went to play in the park that is located in the center of Town Square. Here are some pictures of Colton playing on the playground.

OUR SUNNY DAY!!! Saturday was the only perfect, beautiful day. It got up to 77 degrees, so this was our swimming day. Here we are swimming and having fun in the sun. It was Olivia's first time swimming where she really got in the water with us and played in her floaty.

Our friends, Regan and his two daughters, London and Kennedy.

Our family is officially ready for summer!

Moab Half Marathon

WE DID IT!! Last weekend me and some friends headed to Moab to run the Canyonlands Half Marathon. I've been training with my great friend Jocelyn, she has been my inspiration. We also ran with our friends, Wendy and Peter. Jocelyn's aunt and uncle live in Moab and were nice enough to let Jocelyn and I stay at their house. Here we are the night before the race waiting to be seated at Pasta Jays. We had to get our carbo load......Wendy, Jocelyn and me.

This is us right after the run, I was exhausted!! I really did enjoy the race just about the whole time....until the last two miles. The last two miles I really wanted to die. But it was a beautiful day and the race was along the river most the time. I could not believe how many people ran. It was a great experience!!

We were a team. Hence the matching outfits. My little fans were cheering for me at home, it was too quick of a trip to haul the whole fam down.

Happy St. Patty's Day!!

Yes, I know I am a little behind, but I had to post these pictures. On St. Patty's day, we celebrated with my dad and his girlfriend Lisa. They wanted to spend some time with the kids, and we have a tradition of eating corned beef and cabbage for dinner. So Lisa made us that for dinner, and it was delicious! I also made rainbow jello which is another one of our favorite things to eat on St. Patrick's Day. We had a great time. As always grandparents like to spoil. Colton and Olivia each got a cute St.Patrick's piggy bank with real gold coins to put in it. The kids loved it! Here's a picture of Colton and Livy in the funny hat. It's what Ryan, Lisa's son, wore to school that day. Colton thought it was pretty cool, but Livy wasn't so sure..........

St.George Lake to Lake relay race

Last Saturday I ran in a Lake to Lake team relay race in St. George. Me and two other couples from my neighborhood were on a team. Team #25. Josh was the designated driver and our entertainment. He made us laugh. Before the race got started he was running around the other runners and doing funny stretches....pretending that he was warming up. He said he wanted to intimidate the runners. The race started at Gunlock reservoir and ended at Sand Hollow lake. It was 50 miles in all. Each member of the team ran 2 legs, approximately 5 miles each. This is a picture of our beautiful destination, Sand Hollow.

Here we are before the race started. It was FREEZING! But we were lucky to get a beautiful, cloudless day. From the left...Warde, Jocelyn, me, Wendy and Peter.

Pete after his first leg, he and Warde were troopers and ran the most difficult of the legs.

WE DID IT!!! I ran the last leg....the Glory Leg! It felt so good to finish and we weren't even last. There were 22 teams in our division and our team finished 12th. It works for me. It was an adventure, and I had so much fun. Next up Moab half marathon the end of this month.
